History
The Oahu Veterans Council an organization comprised of representatives from all veteran organizations on island of Oahu was formally organized in 1992. After 10 years the Council saw their dream come true with the construction of the Oahu Veterans Center. It all started with a grant-in-aid in 1995 for $2.8 million from the state of Hawaii to design/construct a Veteran's center. After years of trying to find a suitable location, the Council signed a long-term lease with the Foster Village Community Association. The result is a beautiful facility that veterans and the community can be proud of.
