History
Keaau Filipino Food Store was started by Jessie and Helen Gacula. Helen ran the shop, selling Filipino foods, cooking ingredients, and serving halo-halo. While Jessie, with a young son in tow, drove plantation camp to camp along the Hamakua coastline selling fresh produce and goods. Later, the shop would move into what used to be the Keaau Post Office, where it exists today.
