History
Carter Lee Churchfield is a veteran historical tour guide. After visiting Honolulu's Chinatown for the first time she knew she had to share the neighborhood's delightfully scandalous history with others. Using her skills as an amateur historian Carter created a 90 minute romp through Honolulu's most notorious district. The original tattoo parlors, bars and brothels of WWII's Red Light District are still standing today!
Specialties
This humorous walking tour takes you through Chinatown's history as Honolulu's red-light district. During WWII sailors would come to this neighborhood by the thousands to get drunk and tattooed. The tour focuses on their experiences as well as the women who worked in the brothels and eventually went on strike in 1942 for better working conditions.
