Founded in 1949, Hawaii Preparatory Academy is an independent, coeducational school that provides a variety of academic and extracurricular activities for students in grades kindergarten through 12. The academy is located in Kamuela, Hawaii, and offers a boarding program that admits students in grades six through 12. It offers various academic programs that include more than 15 advanced placement courses in history, biology, calculus, computer science, English, French, music theory, psychology, Spanish, statistics and studio art. It offers various facilities, including indoor tennis courts, student recreation centers, a swimming pool, wireless computer lab and visual and performing arts facilities. The academy provides various extracurricular activities, including scuba diving, horse riding, hiking, video production, archeological site visits and musical performances. It is approved by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of more than 10 educational organizations, including the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and National Association of Independent Schools.
