History
In 2001, Bert Tada, MPT, established Breakthrough Rehab, Inc. in the Kaimuki/Kahala area. In those early days, Breatkthrough Rehab consisted of one physical therapist (Bert) using one table, an ultrasound machine, and some resistance bands to treat his patients. In 2006, Breakthrough Rehab opened a second clinic and also began serving the Kuakini/Liliha area. Each clinic is equipped with a variety of exercise equipment and different modalities, such as ultrasound, electric stimulation, and traction to help treat patients. Our therapists have experience in a variety of settings including: outpatient ortho/neuro, acute and sub-acute care, home health, and long-term care. Each has worked at larger rehab facilities but moved to Breakthrough Rehab to provide patients with more individualized care.
Specialties
Why Breakthrough Rehab? Easy: One-to-one. To maximize your rehabilitation, you should have the full attention of your therapist during your appointment. Can you really receive good care if your therapist is trying to pay attention to 2-3 people at a time? Or you see a different therapist at each visit? At Breakthrough Rehab you will work one-to-one with the same therapist you met on Day 1. We have found the best way to help someone heal is to get to know them as a person, not a number. Breakthrough Rehab is a team of physical, occupational, and massage therapists who work in conjunction with physicians to assist patients in overcoming physical deficits caused by disease, injury/trauma, or elective procedures. We help by decreasing pain, and assisting to improve motor control, joint motion, strength, balance, and safety awareness. Our primary objective is to maximize the patient's normal functional activities and empower patients to self manage symptoms with a home exercise program and patient education. Breakthrough Rehab, Inc. is your premier full service private practice therapy clinic.
