Bob Hawkins started Harvest House Publishers in 1974 with five titles. Within two years, five of its titles had sold more than 100,000 copies and one title made the bestseller list for eight months. By the late 1980s, the company was among the top 10 American publishers of Christian literature and by 2005, in the top five. It publishes more than 160 books each year and offers a backlist of nearly 700 titles. Harvest House Publishers provides titles in three major categories: self help, such as relationships, family, money, Christian living; Bible helps, including Bibles, Bible studies, topical studies; and full color gift books featuring name-brand artists. The company has sold more than 100 million books worldwide in bookstores, gift stores, grocery stores, airports, mass-market outlets, catalogs and Internet sites.
