Winslett, CPA Roger Winslett has widespread experience in tax services, auditing and financial consulting, including business planning, business evaluation and management services. His experience includes a broad range of industries with an emphasis on construction contractors, real estate sales and development, mortgage lenders and brokers, homeowner and condominium associations, doctors, retailers, franchisors, consultants, personal services providers and direct mail advertisers. Roger graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery with a degree in Accounting. After his initial work in public accounting, he spent over twenty years working in private industry with employers ranging from small construction companies to serving as a middle manager in a Fortune 50 telecommunications company. In 2000, he decided to open his own firm and use his management experience to help business owner's better manage their companies. Roger holds certification as a Certified Public Accountant from both Alabama (2749) and Georgia (13678). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Roger is married with four children and has lived in Cobb County since 1984. He is heavily involved with church activities and teaches adult Bible classes regularly. He serves on the board of directors for his Homeowners Association and works with the local schools. Greg DeFoor has extensive experience in accounting, financial management, corporate finance and tax issues. His industry experience includes automobile dealers, automotive repair, construction, distribution, franchises, mortgage companies, professional service firms, real estate, retail, and wholesale. Greg DeFoor is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and received an Accounting degree from Auburn University. He began his career in public accounting before transitioning into eighteen years in private industry as a Controller and CFO in the retail automotive and healthcare industries where he was involved in the day-to-day management of closely held businesses. Greg started his own business in 2002 before later forming Winslett & DeFoor CPAs with Roger. To broaden his financial background, Greg obtained a Georgia real estate broker's license for business brokerage and is an experienced advisor on buying or selling a business. Greg has both an Alabama and Georgia CPA Certificate and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Greg is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Georgia Society of CPAs, the Georgia Association of Business Brokers, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He has written articles for Current Accounts, the member newsletter of the Georgia Society of CPAs, and has made presentations before business groups and associations on a number of topics. Greg served as an officer of the Georgia Association of Business Brokers for three years and has been on three different committees of the Georgia Society of CPAs. Greg is a past President of his Homeowners' Association, a Cobb County neighborhood with over 500 homes. He is a member of McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church, plays ALTA tennis and is a Certified High School Football Official. Greg, his wife, and son have resided in the Atlanta area since 1995.
