Wards Sod is in its 31st year of business. It provides the freshest sod of centipede, bermuda and zoysia. The company is open from March through September and make deliveries on Fridays. Wards Sod services the Athens, Oconee and Lake Oconee area. Owner Barbara Ward says the kids on the bus say, "That is where the green grass grows."
