The Cotton Division is a part of Agricultural Marketing Service, which is operated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It supports the marketing of cotton products in the national and national markets. The division also provides the classification, standardization, market news and oversight of research and promotion programs. The Cotton Division s Cotton Market News program offers daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports on prices and market conditions. In addition, it maintains a national database and provides a standardization program that develops, prepares and distributes grade and calibration standards off cotton. Agricultural Marketing Service, also known as AMS, includes fruit and vegetable, dairy, poultry and tobacco programs.
