The University of Georgia Department of Physics and Astronomy offers a selection of graduate, undergraduate and certificate programs. It provides graduate degree courses at the masters and doctorate levels and enrolls more than 30,000 students. The department coordinates several experimental, theoretical and computational research programs in the areas of astronomy, astrophysics, biophysics, nanotechnology, and atomic, molecular, chemical and elementary particle physics. It operates The Physics Learning Center, which is a facility equipped with computers and general purpose software for use by students.
