The University of Georgia's School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) was created in 2001. The school trains undergraduate students in citizenship and for careers as public servants. It also educates teachers in the fields of public administration, international affairs, and political science. The school offers programs leading to degrees in international affairs, political science, public administration, and criminal justice studies. The school is housed in Candler Hall, which is near the fountain in Herty Field on UGA's North Campus.
