The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center on Dewey Street was created at the bequest of Joan Kroc, widow of McDonald's founder Ray Kroc. The 53,500-square-foot facility features a variety of educational and recreational programs that are partially funded by the community. The center offers annual and monthly memberships and is open six days a week for fitness, recreation and performing and visual arts classes. Members can enjoy a complete fitness center, a computer lab, a game room, a snack bar and coffee shop, a walking and jogging track and a basketball gym. The center also hosts specialty day camps and workshops and rents out spaces for special events such as birthday parties.
