Harry J. Hoenselaar opened his first HoneyBaked Ham Store in 1957. Hoenselaar would select the finest quality bone-in ham, cure it in his secret marinade, and smoke the ham for hours over a blend hardwood chips. He also added a crunchy sweet glaze and found a way to slice the ham into perfectly even slices. Hoenselaar invented and patented a machine that slices a ham in a single, continuous spiral. Three generations and more than 400 stores later, the Hoenselaar family still prepares The HoneyBaked Ham the same way. The company offers hand-selected, fully prepared, spiral-sliced, HoneyBaked Hams, and roasted and sweetly glazed turkey breasts. It has headquarters in Troy, Mich., and stores throughout the United States.
