Griffin Technical Institute, founded in 1963 and based in Griffin, Ga., is a unit of the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education. The college offers a variety of academic programs, including associate, degree and diploma and certificate programs. Its services and facilities include career counseling and guidance, student organizations, financial aid, food services and a fully stocked library. The college offers programs in various subjects, such as business management, computer information systems, accounting, paralegal studies, criminal justice technology, dental assisting, orthopedic, paramedic and pharmacy technology and practical nursing. It also offers other courses, including respiratory care technology, surgical technology, air conditioning, culinary arts, drafting technology, automotive fundamentals, construction management and environmental horticulture. Griffin Technical Institute is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
