First produced in 1802, Scovill Fasteners, represented the cutting edge in form, fit and function in the closure fastener industry. Its snap fasteners meet the demands of high fashion, designer jeans wear, career apparel, infantsware, leather and sporting goods. Scovill's buttons have adorned many United States military uniforms since the War of 1812, but among the most famous pieces produced by Scovill is a set of closures made for General Marquis de LaFayette and presented to him when he visited the U.S. in 1825. Scovill now has production and distribution centers in countries that include: Hong Kong, China, Canada, Belgium, France, Mexico and countries in South and Central America. In 1998, Scovill Fasteners moved to its current headquarters in Clarkesville, Ga.
