History
Acquired by SCAD in 1989 and renovated in 1996, the university's Pei Ling Chan Gallery was initially built as the Savannah Exchange Bank in 1928. Revitalized through a gift from the Pei Ling Chan Charitable Trust, this beautiful and unique location served primarily as a gallery showcasing work in a variety of mediums by SCAD students and acclaimed international artists. The annexed Afifi Amphitheater and Garden for the Arts hosted lectures and performances. Conveniently sited in downtown Savannah, these spaces are available to rent for special occasions or corporate events throughout the year.
