Otto Umana, M.D., received his medical degree at the University of Benin in 1990. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, UNC-Chapel Hill Affiliate, in 2006. He is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a diplomate (board certified) of the American Board of obstetrics and gynecology. Before Joining Piedmont, he was faculty and assistant professor (Campbell University Affiliate) at the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at Cape Fear Valley Hospital, Fayetteville, NC. Dr. Otto Umana provides gynecologic care for women ages 12 and up. He believes in good outcomes and provides prenatal care and delivery for women with normal and high-risk pregnancies. He provides care for women with abnormal bleeding, endometriosis, ovarian cyst, infertility, abnormal pap smear, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, family planning, female urinary incontinence and adolescent gynecology. He is an excellent gynecologic surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and infertility treatment. In his spare time, Dr. Umana enjoys playing tennis, reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with his wife and two children. Dr. Umana welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
