The Northwest Youth Power Early Learning Center is a safe and welcoming center for childcare during work and after-school hours. Owner Anita Hill, born in the area, attends The Word of God Church on the eastern end of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, and she started the center as a way to reach out to the community at the western end of the parkway.
A few of the 100 children who attend the center also go to The Word of God Church. The center is comprised of one small brick building and two trailers. All workers are trained in CPR, first aid and fire safety, and it must have a CDA (Child Development Associate) license. In addition, all assistants practice 16 hours of training each year. The center not only hosts children throughout the day, but workers also travel to local schools to host childcare services.
