The Coosa Valley Regional Development Center is a multicounty organization that consists of Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Paulding, Polk and Walker counties in northwestern Georgia and more than 30 municipalities. It is responsible for the implementation of the Georgia Planning Act of 1989 and the administration of the Area Agency on Aging. The organization also administers the Workforce Investment Act and provides planning and development assistance to member governments. Founded in 1959, the Coosa Valley Regional Development Center operates executive, planning, workforce and fiscal departments. It offers assistance in growth management, historic preservation, transportation and economic development to local governments, organizations, individuals and the State.
