History
The ministry of North Georgia Christian Camp began in 1966 when a few men became aware of the need for a specific ministry to the youth of this area. They envisioned a summer program where youth could come together for the purpose of learning about Jesus Christ and His great gift of abundant life. In June of that summer, the first camp was held at Unicoi State Park. The two week program was a great success. Over the next four years the camp ministry continued to grow, meeting at various places. In 1971 a devoted Christian woman, Lora Kiss, donated 43 acres to be used as a permanent Christian camp facility. The camp buildings were erected and completed in late summer of 1972. The first camp season on the new campgrounds of North Georgia Christian Camp was held that August. Since 1972 the camp has flourished. The camp currently provides 16 summer camping events, as well as fall and spring retreats for all ages. We also rent our facilities to private groups throughout the year!
