Mt. Vernon is one of the oldest Presbyterian congregations in all of Sandy Springs. Mt. Vernon was established in 1954 when local Presbyterians gathered together to create a church which they had not had access to outside of Roswell or Atlanta. Many decades later and they have continued to grow and now include a private school. The sanctuary, which was built in 1969, features a large organ, beautiful stain glass window trim, and lots of natural light. Two services are offered on Sunday mornings; one at 9am that offers a more contemporary worship service as well as a traditional one at 11am. In addition study groups, youth programs and missionary programs are available.
