Mt. Zion High School enrolls students in grades 9 through 12 and offers instructional programs for the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, moral and ethical development of students. Founded in 1989, its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as English, fine arts, foreign languages, social studies, mathematics, physical education, science and vocational studies. The school also offers English for Speakers of Other Languages and special education programs. It involves students in several extracurricular activities, such as gospel choir, peer mediators, student council, mock trial, dance team, and art, beta, accounting, culture, drama, French and science clubs. The school also offers various student organizations, including the National Honor Society, Future Business Leader of America and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. It additionally provides opportunities to participate in a range of athletic activities, such as football, cheerleading, baseball, golf, tennis and softball. Mt. Zion High School is located in Jonesboro, Ga., and is a part of Clayton County Public Schools.
