The Jackson County Finance Department directs the financial operations of the government of Jackson County in the state of Georgia within applicable laws and professional standards. The finance department is also responsible for a range of activities, such as collecting, processing, advising, informing, monitoring, analyzing, coordinating and reporting financial information and management data to ensure the effective and economical use of public resources. The Jackson County Finance Department handles certain areas, including budgeting, facilitation of annual audit, long-range financial planning and payroll. In addition, the department is a recipient of the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officer's Association.
