Forsyth Academy is a county charter High School. Charter schools are primary or secondary schools that receive public money but are not subject to some of the rules, regulations and statutes that apply to other schools. Charter schools are opened and attended by choice. This school is a non-traditional charter high school geared toward students who are not succeeding in a traditional school setting. Students that attend may lack interest in the traditional school environment, have experienced poor academic achievement, are late or absent from school or at a high risk of dropping out of school. Students are allowed to work at their own pace with the help of computer-based curriculum plus offline projects and assignments to ensure that all Georgia Performance Standards are met. They will be able to catch up academically or to move ahead at their own pace which is key to the programs success.
