NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity aims to eliminate homelessness and poverty and to “make substandard housing and homelessness socially, politically, morally and religiously unacceptable.” With the help of volunteers, businesses, government agencies, churches, families in needs, chambers of commerce and community planners, homes are built and sold to pre-qualified families or individuals at zero percent interest through a 20 – 25 year mortgage. Habitat for Humanity employs more than 3,000 volunteers annually to build homes.
