The Gwinnett County Police Department, governed by the government of Gwinnett County in Georgia, has a staff of more than 720 personnel. The department offers law enforcement services to over 700,000 individuals. It operates training, administrative services, criminal investigations and support operations divisions. The Gwinnett County Police Department also manages a crime prevention unit that provides staffing solutions for information booths and alerts victims to avoid future victimization. In addition, the department is primarily responsible for the interdiction of illegal drugs being transshipped through the county on major highways. It assists with the enforcement of the state and federal laws to operate commercial motor vehicles. The Gwinnett County Police Department offers educational and safety-related programs.
