History
The Gullah Living series began in 2009 with hundreds of artist trading cards (tiny canvas the size of a business card) which I painted from dreams. These gradually evolved into full size paintings and in 2011 I moved into the present studio where my work continues unabated. I have a loyal following and have premiered new works for the last 3 years at the Telfair Art Show in Savannah (prize winner), The Dogwood Festival in Atlanta and various venues in the SE.
Specialties
Samantha Claar's Gullah Living is an art gallery. My specialty is original paintings and quality giclees and prints of the Gullah People of the Low Country. I, and my associates, are conversant with Gullah history and consider education about the Gullah-Geechee people to be an integral part of the art itself. This is a working studio and I am there personally most days, painting away on what I love. Please visit and
