Greenbriar Children's Center, established in 1949, is a private nonprofit agency that provides services for the healthy development of children. Its services include emergency shelter, residential group home, homeless programs, independent living, family preservation and early childhood development. The agency offers day care for children of up to five years of age. Its emergency shelter program serves infants and children up to 17 years and provides health screenings, clothing, school transportation, tutorial assistance, and individual and group counseling. The agency receives funds through a variety of sources, including the United Way of the Coastal Empire, Chatham County, city of Savannah, state and federal grants and private contributions. It is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services. Greenbriar Children's Center is located in Savannah, Ga.
