Greater St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as the A.M.E. church, got its start holding worship services in a tent alongside the Sweetwater Creek river in the 1800s. Its current location was a donation of a member from the early 1900s. Greater St. Paul A.M.E. welcomes new visitors and is commited to building a community of believers. It is located just beyond the railroad tracks on Broad Street.
