"Providing wisdom, justice and moderation" is the motto of the Georgia State Patrol. Post 37 is located at 4055 County Way next door to the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS). In March 1937, the Georgia State Patrol was created and has become one of the leading law enforcement agencies in the United States as it pertains to new technology and innovations. The Georgia State Patrol was the first to install dash-mounted cameras in all of its patrol cars and develop a method allowing troopers to end dangerous pursuits by slowing down the fleeing vehicle in a controlled spin called Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT). The Georgia State Patrol Post 37 serves the counties of Forsyth, Dawson and Lumpkin.
