Elberta Crate & Box Company is a family-owned and managed manufacturer of wooden wirebound crates. The company operates three North American manufacturing locations in Bainbridge, Ga.; Avon Park, Fla. and Warrenton, N.C. Though the company originally specialized in packaging Georgia peaches, an increasing portion of the company s business involves packaging sweet corn, cabbage, peppers, beans and squash in the surrounding counties. After 99 years of operation as a family-owned business, Elberta Crate & Box ranks as one of the largest wirebound box manufacturers in the world. Today s ownership and management team includes fourth generation descendants of the company s founder, Samuel H. Rumph.
