The Foundation has programs in the following areas: safeguarding habitat, growing the movement, healthy planet and healthy communities. The goal of safeguarding habitat is to protect terrestrial and marine habitats and wildlife critical for the preservation of biodiversity. Growing the Movement s main goal is to help fund environmental causes. Healthy Planet, Healthy Communities works to restore clean air and water and several other issues. Turner Foundation is affiliated with numerous organizations including Captain Planet Foundation, United Nations Foundation and Better World Initiative. Ted Turner established the foundation in 1990.
