Dunaire Elementary, which perches above South Indian Creek Road, has one of the more diverse populations of students in Dekalb County, a reflection of the community of which it is a part.
The school serves pre-K through fifth grade and has 525 students. The staff members are proud of the fact that the school made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) despite the fact that many of its children's families might be considered homeless or in transition.
Dunaire partners with Ray of Hope Christian Church to give support to the school through donations of book bags, school supplies, Thanksgiving baskets and holiday shopping. The school's Principal is Dr. Carolyn Thompson.
