The Douglas County Fire Department was formed in 1975. Today, it has nine stations, nine engine companies, two ladder companies, six Advanced Life Support Units, a heavy rescue squad and more than 150 employees, including certified paramedics, cardiac technicians and emergency medical technicians.
The DCFD offers numerous services, including fire suppression, emergency medical transport, arson investigation, public education, inspection of public buildings and more. In the event of an emergency, the DCFD asks that you call 911 instead of trying to contact an individual fire station.
