The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice provides supervision, detention, treatment and educational services for youths referred by juvenile courts. It also offers assistance and delinquency prevention services for at-risk youths through collaborative efforts with other public, private and community entities. The department serves more than 52,000 youths annually. The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice operates the Division of Community Services & Intake, which serves over 12 districts and maintains nearly 20 regional youth detention centers. Its Division of Programs & Secure Campuses administers several long-term rehabilitation facilities and youth development campuses. The department has a staff of approximately than 4,500 employees.
