Its steeple watching over the city of Decatur, Decatur First brings orientation not just to lost souls, but also lost pedestrians. The historic landmark was founded a few blocks away in the 19th century with the erection of a log structure. It was soon replaced with a granite structure, and later needed a second location, the current sanctuary, to accommodate the rapidly growing population.
Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month at the 8:45am and 11am services.
A certified ASL interpreter for the hearing-impaired is available during the 11am service.
