Founded in 1972 and located in Atlanta, the Covenant House of Georgia is the privately funded childcare agency that provides shelter and service to homeless and runaway youths. It operates community service centers that offer educational assessment and assistance, computer skills training, GED preparation, pre-employment, job development and job retention services. The agency s outreach program annually serves more than 2,000 youths and provides on-the-spot assistance, such as food and personal hygiene kits. It also maintains crisis center that provides care and supervision services for the homeless young adults between the ages of 18 and 21.
