The College of Environment and Design is a center for research and teaching on various environmental issues, such as species protection, preservation of natural resources, urban design and development and global climate change. It offers degree programs in landscape architecture, historic preservation, environmental ethics and historic preservation. The college has a library that houses more than 7,000 volumes, including senior projects, journals, maps, videos, computer resources, thesis and images. In addition, the college has a computer laboratory that provides various technology services to students. Formed in 2001, The College of Environment and Design is a part of the University of Georgia and is located in Athens, Ga.
