Gilmer High School, located in Ellijay, Ga., is a college-preparatory public school that enrolls more than 1,000 students. The school provides academic education and higher learning opportunities to students in grades nine through 12. The high school is a part of Gilmer County Schools. Its curriculum includes English, fine arts, math, science and social studies. It also provides courses in computer applications, business administration, accounting, multimedia technology, automotive engineering and family and consumer science. Additionally, Gilmer High School provides Diversified Cooperative Training program that imparts occupational skills training to students for employment in various fields, such as health, real estate, finance and building construction. It also has a media center that provides curriculum books, literary sources, audiovisual aids and access to the Internet. Gilmer High School additionally organizes various extracurricular activities, such as musical concerts, a band and theater. It also offers student clubs and organizations.
