The city clerk, the municipal court, the community affairs and public works departments can all be found at Austell's historic Threadmill complex. The facility, once a thread mill, was renovated in 2001 for government offices and private businesses.
Austell city mayor's office, the sheriff's office and the office of the Cobb County commissioner for Austell's district are also located at the complex. The North Georgia Law Enforcement Academy also is a tenant at the complex, which is owned by the city of Austell.
