Chi Omega is the largest Greek organization for women in the world with 171 collegiate chapters and over 300,000 initiates. The foundation began at the University of Arkansas in 1895. UGA's Mu Beta chapter was founded in Athens in 1922. The women of Chi Omega emphasize six purposes to guide personal and chapter life: friendship, high personal standards, scholarship, active campus participation, career development and community engagement. Around campus and Athens, one will see the women of Chi Omega active with sports teams, ugaMIRACLE, student government and judiciary, Order of Omega and Relay for Life, just to name a few. To support the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Chi O throws a fall cookout called Dawgs for a Cause and a spring Bowl-A-Thon tournament.
