Carver State Bank was established under the laws of the state of Georgia in 1927. The company, formerly known as Georgia Savings and Realty Corporation, served as a real estate investment and management company. Today, it is a state bank under the supervision of the Georgia Department of Banking. Carver State Bank offers regular and advantage checking accounts, as well as certificates of deposit, individual retirement and money market savings accounts. It also offers church financing services, business and personal loans, home equity lines of credit and residential mortgage options. In addition, Carver State Bank offers merchant and telephone banking, funds transfer, and direct deposit and night depository options. Headquartered in Savannah, Ga., the bank operates development programs, including credit counseling and individual development account.
