Stephen Fisher, M.D., is a board-certified and sports medicine fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with the Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute. His offices are in Cumming, Buford, and Braselton, Georgia. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he received his B.S. in Exercise Science and was the captain of the championship Pitt Hockey Team. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine before completing his orthopedic surgery residency at Wayne State University - Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. During his final year there, he was appointed Chief Resident.Dr. Fisher then completed his fellowship training in sports medicine at The Lake Tahoe Orthopedic Institute in Nevada and California. After fellowship, he was in private practice in Michigan for seven years prior to moving to the warmer weather here in Georgia. He has been practicing in the North Georgia / Atlanta area since 2009, raising his family here, and he now considers it their hometown.Dr. Fisher is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and is sub-specialty board-certified in Sports Medicine, scoring in the upper 90th percentiles for both his certification and re-certification exams.
