Established in 1954, Buchanan Elementary School is an educational institution that offers a range of learning opportunities to students in grades three through five. It maintains a media center that stocks a variety of books, reference materials and newsletters. The school conducts classes in language arts, math and science. Buchanan Elementary School also organizes a range of educational field trips to various places. It is a part of Haralson County Schools, which governs several elementary, middle and high schools. Haralson County Schools provides education to more than 4,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Its schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
