The John H. Harland Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta has been in its current location since 1970, but has been around since 1968 in the West End. Named for John H. Harland, an Irish-American, its emphasis is technology. The Intel computers in the clubhouse are for students 10 to 18; the STEM lab is for students 6 to 9. The BGCMA has an after-school program for children 6 to 18, and serves more than 650 children each year. It provides pickup service from three elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school and three charter schools. The 21,000-square-foot facility comes with a pool, gym, art center, social rec center and art center -- everything to keep the children involved and active.
