People from Statesboro, Ga. have gathered at the McDouglald/Beaver House for over 100 years. The house was built as the Mayor's mansion in 1911 by our great grandfather John Alexander McDougald, and has remained in the family as a location for socializing ever since. The house was built from cut timber at the family turpentine farm. The exterior is solid cypress and the frame heart pine.
Specialties
The Beaver House Restaurant specializes in family style, traditional southern foods in an authentic turn of the century home. Catering is their specialty and it shows as the owner can accommodate special menus for groups and reservations.
