Alexander High School opened it's doors to students for the first time for the 1986-1987 school year, becoming the third high school in Douglas County at the time. The school was named after Robert S. Alexander, who spent more than 31 years serving the Douglas County School System as a teacher, principal and Superintendent of Schools. The school offers a unique experience for freshmen, partnering them with a junior or senior to overcome the academic and social hurdles they can face during the transition to high school. Nathan Hand is the current principal.
