American Media is a leading publisher in the field of celebrity journalism with titles such as National Enquirer, Star Magazine, Weekly World News and Soap Opera Magazine. The Boca Raton, Fla.-based American Media publishes six of the largest circulation weeklies in the United States. The National Enquirer was purchased in 1952 and the format revamped from a broadsheet to a tabloid and renamed the National Enquirer.
