WIC, also known as the Federal Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children provides vouchers for free food to use at local grocery stores. It also provides nutrition and breastfeeding counseling services for women, infants and children. The program offers breast pump loans and referrals for health care. It is managed by the Escambia County Health Department, which is a multicultural public health organization that provides services to protect the public s health, prevent diseases, promote wellness and prepare for disasters.
