The Florida Department of Corrections protects the public, employees and offenders from victimization. Based in Daytona Beach, Fla, the department offers rehabilitative programs for offenders, including basic education, mental health and substance abuse treatment, life skills, victim empathy and work experiences. It also holds offenders accountable for repairing the harm they have caused through restorative justice initiatives, such as performing community service, paying victim restitution, family support and correctional supervision costs.
